A tribute to our dear friend
The news of the death of Liz Trickett has rocked our community to its very core and we would like to pay tribute to her highly valued membership of our Society - one she loved as dearly as we loved her!
Liz joined our Society as she retired. Her extensive knowledge of Art and her ability with people and communication meant that she seamlessly fused into a loved, powerful and highly respected member of our Committee. And so it has been for over ten years, making astute decisions as our programme secretary. This core role is the backbone of the Society, and we have all profited from Liz’s wise choices and negotiations throughout these years.
In addition Liz helped set up the much enjoyed Special Interest events where we could all study themes in greater depth.
The two holidays which Liz led, firstly to her home County of Yorkshire, were huge triumphs! The second trip took us to Liverpool where we also visited Media City! Both holidays were hugely appreciated by all.
Above all, Liz’s character shone through all she touched - one of kindness, care, compassion and fairness. She is sorely missed but her Heritage lives on to be enjoyed by members both now and in the future. We know that would make her happy!
